Guests flying into Tahiti International Airport (PPT) will taxi to the ferry terminal for a short crossing to the island of Mo'orea. Tickets can be purchased in person at the terminal and a reservation is not required. Once docked in Mo'orea, another taxi ride will deliver you to our final destination in the city of Maharepa. The group will have plenty of time to relax, make introductions, and prepare for the next 6 days on the water.
Join wildlife photographer Adam Martin on a small group adventure to Mo'orea, French Polynesia, in search of humpback whales. We will spend a total of 6 days on the water, for up to 10 hours each day, searching-for and swimming-with humpback whales! Our boat captain and expert local guide will drop us in safe and legal proximity to the whales while maximizing our ability for underwater encounters. Being eye-to-eye with a 30-ton humpback whale is a life-changing experience!

Mon, Sep 16 - Sat, Sep 21, 2019
These will be long days, on the water for up to 10 hours, so we will pack lunches and bring all of the necessary gear. We will circle the island of Mo'orea on our boat, scanning the horizon for signs of humpback whales including fluke-slaps or visible exhales. Our boat captain will set the boat in an ideal position for us to make our approach, while respecting the safety of the whales. Encounters can range from brief passes to full-fledged ballets, depending on what nature offers us! We will have lunch midday, and we will also have opportunities for small excursions to look for colorful coral gardens, baby black tip sharks, sting rays and spotted eagle rays.

Today is the day we will checkout of the villa and make our way back to the island of Tahiti to catch our return flights.
Mask & Snorkel
A comfortable mask that fits your face, and an attached snorkel so that you can breath while swimming with your face in the water. Defog is also helpful to remedy mask fogging.
A comfortable and tested pair of fins for swimming long distances each day. Free-diving fins can help you to move faster in the water, but they are more difficult to travel with.
The weather can be hot or cold depending on rain or wind, and an exposure suit ranging from a 2mm neoprene top to a full 3mm wetsuit is recommended, depending on your tendency to get cold.
We will be spending up to 10 hours a day on the water, so it is important to stay protected with coral-safe sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, and other SPF rated clothing options if not already in a neoprene top.
Sea Sickness Medication
The weather can change a lot day-to-day, and seasickness medication such as Bonine or Dramamine may be necessary if the weather becomes rough. Better safe than sorry.
Ranging from a GoPro camera to a complete underwater housing setup, a camera will provide documented memories of this amazing experience to share with your family and friends.
